Sister Shack
Sister Shack is a feminist Black and Queer-led CIC that focuses on working with and promoting women and non-binary entrepreneurs, creatives, artists, musicians, and DJs. We highlight and discuss issues and experiences faced by women and non-binary people. We provide information, support and guidance.
We strongly believe in women's and non-binary people's rights and wellbeing. We aim to discuss and tackle any subject, from feminism, relationships, nutrition, boundaries, consent, and racism; nothing is off-limit. We aim to promote and empower women and non-binary people to continue their growth in any area they undertake. We encourage them to take up as much space as possible.
Sister Sounds
Sister Sounds Productions is a Black & Queer-led North East based audio production company. We produce radio features, podcasts and immersive audio experiences. Our work has been described as confident, “impressionistic and radio-phonically musical”.
Bend&Shake
Bend&Shake is a multi-genre queer party run by women and non-binary people of the Global Majority. EVERYONE is welcome, but this event aims to provide a safer space for women, non-binary people, trans women, trans men, asylum seekers and QIPOC.
For a long time, I had dreamed of starting up a safer queer Space that would allow those most marginalised feel welcome and safer than what is currently offered. Bend&shake launched in November 2021 and has been a much needed space. Find out more here
DJ
Under the moniker of DJ Awkward Black Girl, I have been djing professionally since 2017, but my love of djing started long before that. I am a multi-genre DJ who likes to play anything and everything.I am able to DJ with vinyl and digital and I have an extensive collection of both.
I also run a DJ collective called Spin City and you can hear some of my mixes here.
I am available for many event types and I occasionally play at weddings.
